When online casinos began sprouting up all over the internet, there were definitely naysayers in the online casino areas. Folks couldn’t believe that the luxury and fun of a real gaming hall could be brought to the internet. For some, wrapping their minds around a slot machine in itself was too much. Now, they had to figure out the enormous luxury of online casino slots from home.
It took some time, but the internet had to make room for the most elite in online casino slots and video slots. The internet did, so for many fans of strategic gaming and luck, they had their minds made up: Online Slots may soon be the standard for gambling. (more…)

Ahh, yes. The drive to Las Vegas is rich with promise. You can never be quite sure of how the city in the desert will respond to you. Will luck, in fact, be a lady tonight, the night you lay your bets across the proverbial table and ask her to shine down on you? I know it never hurts to ask lady luck to show some mercy. But what you must remember to do more than pack your toothbrush, wind your watch, or kiss your sweetheart goodbye, is to check your wallet. Check your bankroll. Check to be sure that you have the right stamina to play all night. Check to be sure that you are disciplined enough to say ‘when’ you are done. At least for the night.
There are far too many stories about folks who can’t say ‘when’. This goes for every aspect of life, not just casinos. Sometimes, the fun and excitement can be sucked out of a good time like innocent gambling when poor decisions are made.
This is just one reason why I love to gamble online. First of all, the options are endless and in clean-cut categories for me to choose from. Free online slots and an array of other free video slots are lined up on my computer screen and I pick and choose. No vultures here, shaking their plastic bins full of miserly winnings. There’s no one waiting on my machine to cool down on me. It’s just me and a good attitude. (more…)

Slot machines have come a long way since their inception in 1895. From a cast iron Liberty Bell to being a staple of fun on the Las Vegas strip, a slot machine could make all the difference for a fun night of gambling.
But let’s face it. Times have certainly changed and playing the slots might mean that you have to change right along with the new generation of gambling. Casinos have caught on to the new technology and right here is your chance to play slots at your convenience.
In the 1970’s, at the height of a smoky Casinos that rang and chimed into the wee hours of the morning, well past noon, and again deep into to the evening, slot machines were there. Now, with the wonder of technology, you can pick and choose your tournaments when you sign on to play online slot machines. It can’t get much easier than that! (more…)

You can see the order of symbols on each wheel and calculate the odds of winning just like counting cards.
Well, why is that pesky RNG generating random numbers? When you press play, the program picks the latest “set” of numbers generated. Each number in the “set” is one of the symbols on the reels. If you have three reels, you get three numbers in the set. So, when those virtual wheels spin, the RNG has already calculated where the reels are going to stop.
It would be so convenient for you if you could see the result of one spin and then calculate the odds of the next spin going through the same spinning sequence a given number of rotations to pick the next symbol on the reel. But, as in the real-world roulette table where the croupier picks up the ball and starts the wheel spinning again, there is no fixed sequence between slot machine spins. During all those seconds you paused between each play, the machine has calculated hundreds if not thousands of spins and virtual stops. That means that there are literally millions of possible combinations available for you to win or lose every minute. That’s how these casino slots can generate a big enough margin to pay out the one or two really big jackpots. (more…)

In the real world, machine operators would have to reprogram every machine on the floor. Most of the big casinos are open round the clock. It would be very bad PR if operators were seen walking round the casino changing the odds every time someone hit the jackpot. With the latest wireless technology, it would be possible to reprogram every slot machine without anyone detecting it. But that doesn’t happen. Because of the security risks, all the algorithms are hard-wired so that no-one who cracks the wifi protocols can rig the machines.
Once the odds are set, the casino lives with them. Anything else would either look bad, expose the casinos to loss (you wouldn’t like it if they went out of business) or, in some countries, be a criminal offence. In the USA, the Nevada regulations which are adopted widely, require the RNG to work randomly with the software tested by regulatory authorities. Trying to shade the odds to change the probabilities in favour of the House is not allowed. The reputable online casinos are the same. The payout percentages are set within a range that is fair to both sides. Any change would be have to be approved by the online regulatory bodies.
So, the House makes its profit — that’s why they’re in business. If we want them to provide the opportunity to gamble, we need them to stay in business! Before you start playing, read the pay tables. Pick the slots that gives you best payback. Here’s where a little math comes in handy. You shouldn’t play any virtual machine that offers a payback of less than 95%. In the real world, casinos have very big overheads. Think of all that floor space and then all the staff, the power bills, and so on. When you go to play online slots, the operator’s overheads are a fraction of those in the real world. That means an online operator can make a good return on money invested and give you a higher rate of winnings than you could ever get in the real world!

Never mind the urban myths, what about the slot machine myths?
Here we take the four most common myths about online slot machines and give you ‘truth’. No, honestly. Here, we tell it like it is!
The main problem is that most people don’t know enough math to understand how the software algorithms work inside the online slot machines. This gap leaves most people guessing and they guess wrong. The core of a virtual machine is the Random Number Generator (RNG). If you had to start shouting out numbers at random, how random would you be? Do you have favorite numbers? Or would you forget after the first ten or twenty and start repeating yourself. It would be so easy to fall into a pattern, wouldn’t it? So, how does a machine do it and how does that affect what you see in a real-world casino or online?
Let’s take four situations and talk you through them:
1. Well, here goes with the first of our four myths about slots. Now, ask yourself, “How many times have you been in this situation:
You walk away from a machine and the next player hits a jackpot.” (more…)

There are many different types of online slots tournaments, and no hard and fast rules as to how they all work. But there are a few universal rules to bear in mind.Generally, there is a set price to ‘buy into’ the tournament, and this fee provides you with a set number of credits. These credits are then exchanged for games on particular slot machines. And the aim, of course, is to get the largest winnings possible.
In most tournaments, you will be playing with only ‘tournament or play money’, which means in effect that all you stand to lose is your entry fee. Whether you are a high roller or not, you will have the same odds as every other player and have the potential to win a lot of cash.
Some of the other online slots tournaments ask that you play with ‘real money’, and stakes are always dependent on the individual slots tournament.

While there are no strict rules when playing slot machines, there are several notes that can be made to advise a customer on how to successfully manage a game. It is wise to remember that online slots pay more than a land based casino. This is due to the large levels of running costs that a land casino has to pay out to ensure that the casino runs smoothly. As an online machine doesn’t have these costs, the majority of the prize money will go to you, the customer.
Learning about each machine and the type of slot game it offers is the first step in winning the prize money. There are many different varieties of slots machines, and each offer a different game. It’s important to learn how each one is played in order to get the maximum playing capacity from your games. If it confuses you, then it might be better to play a different game.

A Slot tournament is where a collection of solitary slot machine players all work collectively to earn cash or prizes after all paying a small fee. The idea of a tournament was introduced in the land based casino to encourage more people to play the slot machines as a taster to the more serious forms of gambling. Paying an entry fee, which is usually small depending on the number of people entering, is all that is needed. The players are then required to play the slots for the allotted time, and the players who have won the most money will then win the tournament.
For a Slot Tournament in an online casino, the entry fee is generally small, although it can be up to £100 for the high ranking games, and you then receive a large sum of money that you use for playing in the tournament. This way, the casinos entice the players into entering the money, and they will receive the house cuts from the slots either way, so nobody really loses out. The tournament rules will state a set time period, whether it goes by day, or by time is up to the casino.
